Read the fabric composition
A product described as cotton may be a blend. Check the composition rather than relying on the headline. Different blends can affect feel, stretch and drying behaviour. Choose around where you will wear it and how you prefer your clothes to feel.
Use measurements instead of guessing a size
Sizing varies between brands and sometimes between styles from the same brand. Compare the size chart with a comfortable T-shirt you own. Look for instructions on whether the chart shows body or garment measurements. Consider shoulder width and length as well as the chest.
Look for details in the construction
Close-up photographs can show neckline ribbing, seams and fabric texture. A heavily edited model photo is less useful for judging these. Read reviews that describe fit after washing, while remembering that washing methods and individual expectations differ.
Include care in the buying decision
Check the washing and drying instructions before purchasing. A garment that needs care you cannot reliably give may not remain useful for long. Confirm the return conditions for the exact item, particularly during clearance sales.
